Altman’s Billiards & Barstools first opened in 1985 as an out-of-home business in Mackinaw, Illinois. In the summer of 1999, Bob Altman and his wife Karen moved the store from their home in Mackinaw, IL to Bloomington, Illinois. This move increased their 800-square-foot showroom to 2,000 square feet located on Morrissey Drive. Always expanding, the Bloomington store was relocated in 2002 to its current location: a 16,000 square-foot showroom on Ireland Grove Rd. With this move, Altman’s Billiards & Barstools expanded their inventory to include outdoor patio furniture and spas, in addition to their ever-expanding offerings of pool tables, bars, barstools, kitchen counter stools and dinette furniture. The Champaign Store location was added in 2003 and later moved to Urbana in the summer of 2010. This store offers all the same high quality indoor furnishings and spas. In the following years, both the Bloomington & Urbana locations have continued to add merchandise and selection to their offerings, becoming central Illinois’ best choice for quality family furnishings in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
